Luke Denton is the main protagonist in our practical production; 'Red Tide'. He is an inexperienced soldier, but is capable none the less. Although kind at heart, Denton performs his military duties with efficiency and skill. He is a keen marksman, and is able cope in pressurised situations. However his main motivation in the war is to survive and return to his wife back in California. This aim can leave Denton detached from the true meaning of the war, and leaves his emotional state potentially fragile.

JOSEPH ANDREWS

Born: Albany, NY 1949
Height: 5ft 7in
Weight: 70kg
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Home: Miami, FL
Family Status: Engaged
Deployed to Vietnam: 1967
Rank: Private First Class
Actor: Ben Purkiss-Mcendoo (pictured)

Joseph Andrews although younger than Denton, has served an extra year in Vietnam, Andrews is more personal and reserved. He knows what he's doing, and what to do, but does not voice it. Denton on the other hand does voice his natural knowledge of combat, and the two compliment eachother as a result. They are both on the same wavelength, and Andrews is there for Denton to bounce ideas off before they both agree on a conclusion. Andrews is the sort of character who likes to follow orders. His work ethic is simply to get his down and get the job done in the quickest and simplest way.
