Apocalypse Now - Opening Analysis





Above is the masterful and artistic opening of 'Apocalypse Now' capturing the atmosphere and emotions of the Vietnam War in mere minutes, and becoming one of the great film intros.

Saving Private Ryan - Opening Analysis



Above is the famous intro itself. It can be well argued that there is no subsequent war film that does not owe something to 'Saving Private Ryan'. Ourselves included. The shaky cam style, the point of view shots, the sheer intensity. It all originated here.

Coming Up

WHAT NEXT FOR THIS BLOG YOU MAY ASK!? WELL...

- As filming is well underway, and the 'Red Tide' intro nears post production, my next few blog posts will be about more of the inspirations for our film.

- More analysis of other film openings which have been an inspiration for us, including 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'Apocalypse Now'.

- The impact of music, and we intend to use it with no budget.

- Productions costs; an estimate into how much it cost us to acquire all the props and costumes.
